Introduction
Today we’ll close out the Series on the Holy Ghost, we’ve looked at the Holy Ghost
in Action, Part I; and at the Nature and Work Holy Ghost as part of the God-Head,
Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Now we are going to get a snap shot of the Holy Ghost
Coming In Power through History.

1100-1500 Dark Ages, Crusades to Reformation…
Southern France & Northern Italy Experience Revival:
• A move away from extra-biblical teachings of catholic church, back to bible;’
• Christ Alone Head of Church;
• 1st English version of Bible by John Wycliff;
John Hus, Bohemian preached Reform & Revival:
• Professor at University of Prague;
• Burned at stake, betrayed at Council at Constance (Martyred p.91);
Martin Luther, Reformation in Germany, 99 Thesis;
• Saved by God in Jesus Christ Alone through Grace alone.

1700 The Great Awakening…
Moravians, Count Van Zinzinsdorf, Herrnhut, 100 years of prayer 24/7 (p.124, 126);
John Wesley, influenced by Zinzindorf, launched the “Holy Club” of Oxford;
• Bristol, England 20,000, new believers;
• Spread to North America, Methodist Church;
• Jonathan Edwards, New England 50,000 new believers out of population of
250,000;
• Missions Movement Born.

Hebrides Revival 1949…
World War II young people affected by war (p.216-17);
College Revivals:
• Bill Bright, Campus Crusade,
• Billy Graham, Youth for Christ,
• Jim Ryburn, Young Life.

1960-70’s Jesus Movement…
300,000 jesus people, across Denominational lines, during upheaval of 60’s;
• Larry Levy came to Christ during this movement,
• Tim Bellis, witnessed hearings at St. Timothy’s Church, Father Zampino.

Riots in Big Cities, Revive Us Again…
Jettisoned Jesus from the public square, worship at the feet of capitalism,
educations, and materialism, somehow believing these will Save us from ourselves.
• Riots - Ferguson, Mo.,
• Riots - Baltimore, MD, though evil seems to have risen to new levels,
Holy Ghost on the move causing those who are praying, waiting, watching to
responding Baltimore Churches, Ministries (Across Denominational Lines, Race,
Socio-Economic, Political lines).
