A son of Korah, in Psalm 85:4, makes a plea before His God,

"Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us."

His nation, it's leaders and therefore it's people had turned their backs on God. Reminding all, God rescues, one of the sons of Korah, makes this plea, ultimately, a cry from a hope filled heart, an act of faith, an intimate overture towards God, please HELP!

We are in deep trouble as a nation, people, and even as the Body of Christ, His church!  And our response must be the same as the people of Israel in Korah's day.  We cannot place our hope in man, his wisdom, power, or good.  We must see how we've strayed from God, we must, those who actually believe, humble ourselves as Solomon exhorts,

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

This must start with those who actually believe in God, those who've declared their faith in Christ as Savior, it starts with repentant hearts of believers willingly humbling themselves pleading for forgiveness through the confession of their crimes against man and ultimately, God.  Out of the ash heap of humility, God hears the cries of the faithful and God moves in power!

"Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation."  (Psalm 85:7).

The requirement on our end, born from humility is hearing and responding as God desires,

"I will listen to what God the Lord will say; He promises peace, to his people, his saints, but let them not return to folly, or the stupidity of their own ways (italics=my translation).  (Psalm 85:7-8)

If we can agree, that stuff is jacked up and getting even more crazy and out of control; that our leaders who hunger for power are lying, cheating and manipulating to grab or hold onto power only to benefit themselves, by exploiting those their supposed to serve; that our human wisdom is NOT wisdom at all, but a huge, hot, stinky pile of refuse; and that we CANNOT make our way out; then we might just BOW DOWN, and ask for HELP from God realizing,

"Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land." (Psalm 85:9)

His glory, His presence made real and tangible by His felt blessings on our land and in it's people, being realized & tasted once again.  Now tell me, isn't what God offers so much better, than what any man promises to do,

"Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest." (Psalm 85:10-12)

But remember, our charge, the one who fears the Lord, is to do life His "Righteous" Way, in His "Righteous" Power, according to His "Righteous" will.

"Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps." (Psalm 85:13)

It's up to me and you, saint, to prepare His way, then ALL will see His foot steps, He is our ONLY Hope, Jesus!  Jesus challenges those who truly fear God to life time of self-humbling, this is the ONLY way into God's heart,

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." (Matthew 5:5)

Join me, will you, let's get down on our faces, let's spill to God all our wrong and let's live our lives hungry and thirsty for His RIGHT!

The promise is, "We will be filled!"  God will make it Happen!
