Our Family
Rob Benson is the Lead Pastor and main visionary of Matt’s House Church. He is a self-proclaimed nut who enjoys many things including biking, hiking, reading, and hanging out with his family, especially on movie night! He has been married to his sweetheart, Allison, for (2?) years and says she still lights up the room with her smile. They have two wonderfully challenging kids, Jesse and Faith (Fay-fay to her friends). Rob has had some interesting vocations in his past, including an Army Officer and a Baltimore City Police Officer but his favorite other than his current job, was working with the youth in Youth for Christ. He really has passion and heart for young people and their need to find a relationship with Christ. As does his bride. Allison, works with the Young Moms support group and the Crisis Pregnancy Center; ministering to young women in crisis. They both have put their hearts into the ministry of leading people into relationship with Jesus. They will tell you that Matt’s House is not about religion, it is about RELATIONSHIP, both with others and with Christ.
Bob and Kay joined our family in 2009 around Christmas time. They decided this was the place and rolled up their sleeves and went to work. Bob currently works as the Executive Pastor and Children’s Minister. He and Kay are both a part of the band “Beautiful Tragedy” . He has a heart and passion for kids and mentoring others. Kay also helps with the kids in Kids church and many of the church office duties as well. Bob also works as a Managing Consultant for the power industry. Kay is a tax professional.
