Our Core Beliefs
We Believe...
God is Greater than anyone or anything else and therefore we cannot truly explain all of whom of what God is. Instead, based on out relationship to Him and how He is revealed in the Bible, we believe the following:
You Matter to God because when He divinely made the universe, mankind (both men and women) were the highlight of that creation. It was not an accident that you were born but God breathed life into you to make you a living being.
God Loves Us because He made a plan from the very beginning to bring us into relationship with Himself. He wants us to be able to choose Him (really love Him) and so He gave us free choice to choose good or evil, Him or something else.
We Sin when we choose anyone or anything above God. Doing so erodes the relationship we have with God and leads to lives that are unusually empty, lonely, hurting, and destructive.
God Saved you when on the cross Jesus Christ died, God allowed Jesus' death to pay for your sin. It is done and the penalty for your sin is paid. It again becomes your choice to build a good relationship with Him.
You Were Made To Love from the very start - to love God with everything you have and are. But you were also made to love others beginning with family and extending to those who love God and out to loving everyone.
God Is A Trinity. As we experience Him in our lives and through the Bible, we see three persons (Father, Son and Spirit) but one God. It is similar to how we experience H2O as water (liquid), steam (gas), ice (solid), where all are the same but still different.
God The Father is the loving creator, the parent in our relationship with God who protects and provides for us as well as transforms our lives so we can better succeed as His children and inherit His Kingdom.
God The Son is Jesus who came as an obedient son to be our substitute and take our punishment paying the price of sin, our older brother who died for us so we could be free. He shows us the truth about our heavenly Fathe-r and reveals His love to us.
God The Holy Spirit was sent to us by Jesus and the Father to bring us to an understanding of what Jesus did for us. He delivers God's spiritual gifts to us so we can truly live as children of God and share his will with others.
Spiritual Gifts Are God's gifts given to those who believe to help build not only our own relationship with the Father but to help others grow in relationship with the Father as well. Everyone has at least one gift given as God chooses.
Church Is People not a building or organization. Church is the children of God united to be a physical representation of God in the world, to minister to their own needs and to the needs of all they can reach.
Matt's House Is The Place for you to come. To see if God really is loving and whether His children will truly accept you as their brother or sister. A place where you can be a part of the true church and have a relationship with God.
